The Beautiful Ah Mei Land and her Wonderful Lifesaving People - Part 3

Day 4
Woke up early in the morning, took 'self strong' train down to Hualien, Ruei Suei...

While some are 'kooning', other are busy playing their games, some are just simply watching the beautiful scenery outside the window....

and some are busying playing cards - 'Rich and Outstanding' against the 'Queen of Genting'

We reached the starting point for our rafting at the treacherous Xiuguluan River, the longest river in Eastern coast of Taiwan, spanning from Mt. Xiuguluan, the river flows 103 km, cutting a gorge thru the coastal mountain range making it the most popular place for rafting.

The place was well equipped with an information centre that provide info of the river and the do & don't for rafting.

Lunch was big and hearty Bento packed in wooden box---Big Fish Big Meat

Our last ..... always got to wait for her...
'wait, wait, let me count how many grain first'
Anyway, she has since improved in her timing not just in makaning, noodle curlings but also her ski paddling..

We do the back drifting again but this time at Xiuguluan river, depth was quite shallow due to the dry weather with low rainfall but water still flowed very fast.
Good time for back massage with nature element!!

The mountainous and greenery scenery along the river was wonderful.....

Ah Ming demonstrated to us how to overturn a capsized raft

There you goes....

and here we goes ... one for all and all for one
After the practice and rehearse on land....

Join us, join us....so much fun, where's YKJ....

Here come the ,,,siong siong one...

No problem for her as she is getting heated up..

Capsize drill on site.
Pull..... push....pull.....push.... Ask the bull to pull.....
NAT you try!!!

'Collided' with many raft people from other local schools thus end up making friends with them..

Go, go, go on, exclaimed the team but my back hurts, no choice but need to go on as everybody is still paddling very hard, as no one show signs of fatigue.

Got stuck !!!
Freed.....let go...

Back drift again to the end...

Passing under the beautiful red arch bridge...

Beautiful gorges along the way, just relax on your back to end point.
Saw a wide eyed bird flying pass very low from JK land, don't know going where???
can't fly high probably due to overweight...

Shallow enough for us to walk back to end point...

Group picture taken after the tedious 'journey' ..
Tired but feel good as the workout was fun and enriching.
Excellent teamwork is needed for a successful 4.5 hrs rafting session.

'Big Fish and Big meat' again with 10 big portion delicious dishes for all the big eaters.
The girl outdo the guys...

Our home for the night, hot spring resort in Hualien.

Lucky Hot Spring ...

set in a valley in mountainous Hualien.

Night fall....
Hot spring time... soak in hot mineral water that cure skin problems, backache but still with clothing on..
They have hot and cold bath...

Wonderful beds for a good night sleep after soaking.

Well, that part 3, day 4
