Chingay 2010

Hey guys, anyone interested in being part of the Chingay Parade 2010? :)

NUS Sports Club is excited to have been given the opportunity by People's Association Singapore to perform in the coming Chingay Parade 2010. We have been given the role of "The Opening Act" to welcome the Guest-of-Honor and kick-start the parade for both dates.

Details of Chingay 2010 are as follows:

Parade 1
Friday 19th Feb 2010
8.30pm

Parade 2
Saturday 20th Feb 2010
8pm

Venue: F1 Pit Building to Singapore Flyer

With a plethora of colourful costumes provided by People's Association customized for each of us, and wielding the vibrant energy that the NUS Sports Club is known to possess, NUS Sports Club intends to rally a contingent that is 125-strong and this can only be done with involvement of each and every club. Therefore, it is a request that each member club be able to bring forward as many representatives as possible. This is a challenge, but the accomplishments, recognition and rewards would be a milestone for your club in NUS.

Laid on the table are the following benefits to our Club:
-*monetary reimbursement for our time and efforts
-*CCA point to individual participants from NUS
-*Participation points for the NUSSC Club Review System
- Certificate of Participation for Chingay
- Samba training from a professional Brazilian tutor
- more goodies to come as we get updates from People's Association

* = club rewarded proportionally to level of involvment

As one community, we must also consider the fringe benefits Chingay has to offer:
- the experience and memories performing in Asia biggest Parade alongside international artists
- the bonding as we move as a unit and learn from the uniqueness of each other
- getting a huge float to perform with (and we didn't even have to build it)

NUS Capoeira will be holding a meet up session this Fri, Dec 18, 5 -6.30pm @ SRC Sports Club Meeting Room 2. The agenda would be to desseminate the information required about our involvment with Chingay, and to answer any enquiries any of you may have.

Anyone is invited to sit in for this meet up session, especially those that may even be considering participation to be present, in order to receive updated and accurate information.

To indicate your interest for this event / for more details or enquiries, do not hesitate to contact Bryan at capoeira.nus@gmail.com
