Casuarina Beach

For those going to Darwin! This is Casuarina Beach where the The Darwin Surf Lifesaving Club is located! Most of the non-running events should be held at this beach, if it's still the same as 2009. :) U will shower there during training sessions too... (refer to video) no cubicles for girls too wor, unless it was renovated. :) We also had the awards/prize presentation ceremony for lifesaving sport at this club where we were served BEER, & HEAPS OF FOOD prepared by the Aussies :)

The sunset here is one of the most spectacular sunsets you will ever see too :D

Very flat beach unlike Sentosa... May need to bunny hop at the start of the race depending on the tide :)

Meanwhile, all the best for ur exams! :D

Exams are coming!

Exams are coming! It is time for the final lap, and we some of us can look towards overseas trips (i.e. Arafura) after that!

Just to spice up a little, a little Mr Bean humor on exams. Although we have watched it before, never fails to give me a laugh lol.

P.s. Please also note that those who go for beach trainings, the bus service into Sentosa from Seah Im has been discontinued since 12th April, and will have to take the monorail in.

Fun in the Big Vast Land where their Orginial Men Walk Barefooted...Pre

Dear All, Amidst the battle with the monster call 'exam', do concentrate and do well in your forthcoming exams...... after that we will 'cheong' to the Big Vast Land where their original men walked bare footed and have fun... yeah... Darwin welcome you all like what our girls have experienced before .... This is where we will be staying, just opposite Youth Shack Chillis... near to Coles and a short distance from Woolworth..... and of course the many happenings at Mitchell Street... pubs, restaurants, crocodile gallery....

The Open Ceremony will be at TIO stadium, a stadium that was sponsored by well wishers after striking lottery ....... and of course private taxi drivers..... call ...

Honey in 2 cups! where all the bees start to gather... don't know who the joker who just barged in ...

Both these 2 guys changed their taste as they are 2 years older... with yellow shirts

The Surf Lifesaving team was also at the ceremony to do SKPing. Lifesaving is very well respected in Australia for both their effort in rescuing and sports...

The celebration at the open ceremony is better than any lifesaving events that I have seen before...

Mindil beach, wide and long soft sandy beach, perfect for beach sprint and flag...

Our team warming up for the battle in the evening...

Whilst waiting, we enjoy the beautiful sunset at Mindil....so beautiful especially when there is a sail ship cruising pass the sun, it will be better if there is someone riding on a horse, galloping along the sandy beach ...of course someone do hope that the horse is white colour with John Chocolate.

beach flag under the floodlights....

Our guys doing well in the beach sprint relay.

Alongside Mindil beach is the weekly night market on every Thursday night, digideroo a wind musical instrument is a common sight at Darwin.

selling wild animals meats, do have a taste of it to check whether your teeth are strong enough ...

If not test your stomach, try fresh and soft one, if you can

at this makeshift stall not the one in Police Academy...

on our day off, ---just to unwind, at Aquascene, Doc Gully, spending some times with the fishes, stroking and feeding it....

At Darwin Wave lagoon.....

Look! these 2 guys changed their taste again......
Rocky, the kangaroo, WELCOME YOU TO THE GAMES.

Waves, waves.... resemble the fun wave riding that we have in Desaru... but here they can manipulate 4 types of waves..... level 1 easy one

Next level, a little bit tougher.....

Up to another level,,,, still manageable...

The toughest 'boogie' level ...tough but very fun to go thru...
started with many rushing in....

but few manage to .....

Our unique SKPing team, waiting at the gate of Casuarina pool....
capable of setting up, tearing down for both still and open water competitions

The pool event is at Casuarina pool, near to a big shopping mall that housed many 'atas' shops and 4 hyper marts.... Coles, Big M, K Mart and Woolworth.
Casuarina pool, unique pool with nostalgia feel when you step on the pool deck...

Line Throw events....you need to look up for the ceiling cable wire...

Ocean events is held at the picturesque beach at Casuarina, far away from the noisy city that where the Darwin Surf Lifesaving Club is.. just 300m away from the land of Adam and Eve....

Beautiful, wide and sea to no end of the horizon........

Do remember to taste the sea water when you're there, it is not that salty like ours, taste like bubble tea....

Workshop cum trainings session before the competition, surfboard paddling taught by handsome Superman Sam

At the other side, the 'fine art' of ski paddling taught by Australian champion Ross Peasnell.

At the start of the surfboard race, beautiful shallow beach, you need to run with the board for about 30m, bunny hop for another 20m - 30m, before hopping onto the boards and paddle away...
Ski paddling to the 'no end' of the sea....

Sunset at Casuarina is beautiful too.... whilst our girls awaits the prize presentation..

These 2 guys again, this time round, they changed their taste for ropes and the gold medal that they have won.

Our day off..... to the wonders of Northern Territory

Waterfalls, bungle holes, creeks....

Jumping crocodile.......

and this very funny mini van..... 'If you're TEN then I'm SINGLE' with all ten queries written at the right side of the van.

Closing Ceremony at Sky Casino hotel where...

half human half jumping kangaroo were spotted hopping around the site, wishing and thanking everyone for participating in the games...

where everyone bids good bye......

The games end with high note where we had again fostered strong bonds and friendships with many other lifesaving teams, motivation and team spirit amongst the team was at it peak as it is always is.... So, after your tedious exam, do pack your bags and we are going down under--- yo!
