YEAR END REPORT 2009

Dear All Wonderful Lifesaving people,
2009 is coming to an end .....

we have done so much for 2008 and even more for 2009..
Summary for what we have done for 2009

Jan 09
Celebrated CNY at my place, of course 'Ang Pows' were given to you all..

Feb 09
Sadden by the demise of Jeff Morley, a kind hearted big fellow who showered us with love when we were at Darwin.

Mar 09
Games day for all ULC people.

Apr 09
Slaying the monster call Exam from mid Apr to early May.
New baby was born and was showered with love by all.

May 09
Dream to Darwin was almost shattered by H1N1, thanks to the our senior management who fought hard to get us on the kite to the land where their original men walk bare footed.
We perform well at Arafura, special thanks to NT Lifesaving people, Tony, Julie, Bob, Croke, Roz, Floss, Penny, Peter, Barry, Denis, John, Kim, Ross, Sam and many others......

June 09
We hosted the 10th NUS Invitational Lifesaving Championships...
10 years and we are still doing well with a record of 15 schools/clubs participating with 50 teams entries received!
NUS teams did very well in this championships

July - Aug 09
Newbie were attract to join us for our Lifesaving courses..
We did very well in the Nationals Lifesaving Championships 2009.
Sadden by the news of a man dies after competing in triathlon

Sep 09
We hosted the NUS Splash Down...
KJS & YKJ and feollow committee people did very well for this event....think very long but cannot think ??
We have a change of committee members-
Many thanks to Fitzkhoon and company and welcome Sheng Jie and company onboards to look after this wonderful family.

Beach Intro to newbie
A record of 38 of them turned up, fascinated by the awe of beach rescue, sprints, flags, boards and ski..

Went up to Johore to have gathering and fun with the Malaysian lifesaving friends.
special thanks to Kok Wey, Chee Gay, Johore Life Saving Society and LSSM.

Fun and thrilling stay at the Big Horse land with beautiful spilling wave ..
Christmas gathering.... but I am not there...., at Ah Mei land, sourcing for next year gathering there...

Next year.... new baby coming... going to Ah Mei land etc...

teamNUS Sport Award 2009 on Sat, 24 Oct 09 at University Cultural Centre

(everyone must be present for this ceremony!)

It is my honour to inform you all that:

Our Men Lifesaving team that they will be receiving the Merit Award.

Can't have all the faces in the picture, so the guys are Nick, Wei Sin, Yin Ren, Wee Siang, Kok Leong, Rong Ming, Nicholas Hong, Wei Yang, Kar Meng, Ian, Kangrui, Yang Jun, Aik Thong, Shengye, Theen Mun, Jun Song, Yaowen....

Not forgetting the old guys who put in so much effort for the team of today....

The girls will have to work harder for next year, but no worries as this year you have won the overall women champion in the National Lifesaving, you just need to do well for next year NUS Invitational....
Awards or no award, we are still a Wonderful team to live with.... that how we grow and glow for the past 20 over years... and we will continue to do so, why? cos we are a TEAM...

After the hearty meal..... Cheong...

To the sleepy town to munch free samples of pinesapple tarts...

Charge up with loads of tarts and biscuits...

Besdie munching also....chewing and blowing of gum.... you can't do it back home!

In the evening, a night at the famous symphony orchestra threatre... just lie down and listen....with powerful bass background.

Not from Louis Armstrong or Rod Stewart.... but from me.

I see SKPs of genuine and hardworking...

I see them moving quick and fast, just for everything to works...

Some with events and some without but with passion and love...

Giving everything that they could to make other days....

I see smiles on all faces, working happily and making others smiles too.

And the results, What a wonderful NUS Lifesaving team.

Thank you so much, without you all, it is just black and one....

Mission Accomplished -Well Done!!!

Dear All,

We have accomplished the mission of organising the NUS Invitational Lifesaving Championships for 10 times.

We would want to thanks all particpating teams for showing faith in us by coming over to our holy water for this joyous gathering.

A gathering for all lifesavers to meet up and display their lifesaving skills to each and others and most is to forge friendships through Lifesaving Sports.

Not to forget RP, who had successful hosted the inaugural Youth Lifesaving Funfest which indirectly show impact on this year NUS Invitational Lifesaving with 15 organisations, 50 men & women teams competing.

To all NUS lifesaving people and all volunteers officials from SLSS and ACJC,

It was indeed a long day, and it was your efforts that make this events a fruitful one with all the happy smiling faces of every competitors enjoying their time here in NUS.

Without you people, the show just cannot go on....

Thanks for the early few months planning, trainings, hardworks and tedious preparations, especially on Friday evening and early Saturday morning with tempertaure taking, preparation and setting up and making sure the events go smoothly until the tedious task again -- packing up.

No need to mention names, you all should know how much effort you have put in...

End of the day, all are still fit and able to pluck the sweet grape and legs clean without oil.... for the purpose of Lifesaving in NUS and our home.

NUS Invitational Lifesaving 2009

Dear All,

This coming Sat, we are playing host, so need all possible help from all ULC members.

For those competing, you know your events, go for it.

For those helping out --thank you first, it will be a long day....

Everyone need to take your temperature for sat morning, if you are running a high fever, please stay at home.--see doctor is a must.

I have email all your trainings timings until yesterday late night trainings but only managed to key into your log page until 4 May 09...pls read your email.

Glad to know that many have improved - well done!

Do remember to set your own goal setting using SMART.

Always be humble and remember that it is not the competitons or trophies that we are going after , it's the teamNUS spirit that keeps us going on, let show other how united we are. - take pride it's an honour to represent NUS.

We are not just swimmer, runners, canoeists we are lifesavers.

Doing your best is more than enough.

OK ... let go......

Finish this task and it is mission accomplished for 10 times

Slaying the Monster called Exam- Good Luck for Your Exam

Remember him, he is Mr. 步警云，he got the world best good razor sharp sword that you can borrow to slay the monster.

For those going for trainings at the Sand do sa, please go in pairs as the long blue and orange baby need tender loving care and donning the lifejacket is compulsory.

For those going to the big vast land where their orginals men walk barefooted - last trainings on 7 May 09 morning 9am till 1pm and kite off in the evening at T1.
Remeber to bring a bag to collect your stuff on 6 May 09 evening.

Trainings is still on at the pool except 1 May 09
