To all NUS varsity athletes,
Singapore Heart Foundation (SHF) is a non-profit charitable organization that has an active role in helping heart patients and meets the cardiac needs of the community through education, research, preventive measures and financial assistance programs. We offer many services and programs, from cardiac rehabilitation to support groups in health mapping exercises and also community education to the community. All these are funded solely from the goodwill of the public and corporations and not from community chest.
On 24th April we are co-organizing a charity run event to be held at Temasek Polytechnic, to spread the good healthy lifestyle to the general public. Participant can choose to run in the 2.4km distance (6.30pm or 7.15pm) or 5km distance (8pm). Concurrently to the run there is the Largest Human Wheelbarrow Race which you can participate too. We seek your support in this record breaking event. Those that participate in the Wheelbarrow Race will get a certificate of participation from Singapore Books of Records.
We strongly encourage NUS’ staffs , athletes and sports committee to participate in the event. We believe a healthy lifestyle is the best way to a healthy heart and mind. Tickets cost $50 per participants can be purchase from SHF. Proceeds from the events will be uses for funding our cause in our battle against heart diseases, the number one killer in Singapore. We thank you in advance from our hearts and from hearts of patients currently in our care.
I can come over to answer any question you may have. Please advice.
The closing date for entry to the event is on the 27 Mar 2009. Thus your prompt reply is really appreciated. Hope to hear from you soon.
