9th NUS Invitational

Woah woah woah.... SOooooO many pics! But only got one of me sitting down at the table. :( But nevertheless, seeing everyone enjoying youself out there in our Holy water greatly comforts me. *wipe off tears at the side of my eyes. sobz

Many have said their piece and I think I should do too. First of all, really want to show my appreciation here by telling you all "You guys are great!" The help you all give as officials/sai kang warriors/competitors/cheerleaders and many many more!!!

Alot of ppl to thank ah... wait ah i take out my list first.

ahemm... I want to thank every single one of NUS Lifeguard Corps, regardless of age, seniority and looks (read "yve"...haha), the effort in helping out in the meet on top of your events is commendable. I recevied some praises and mails from other organisations commenting that our Invitational is SOLID, so much better then the "you-know". All thanks to the ever-efficient NUS Lifesavers! You all should be proud to be part of this big family because I am. On top of your feats in the pool, you guys/girls made an impression in every single lifesavers in Singapore. All and the above, You all earned their respect and for that I think everyone can honour the two red words on the back of our shirts. Many ask what does 尊严 means, and many just say it is an event, although the shirt was here before I do, I always believed it meant the pride to be a lifesaver and the pride to be a NUS Lifesaver. So kudos to everyone who can call yourself one!

Next, some ppl who are working in the background quietly, unnoticed. While many of you all are busy swimming and giving your best, these are the ppl keeping up our NUS name and running the whole thing. To our ever 青春 seniors, really thank you for the help, your experience and enthusiasm rub onto me. Mr Lii Chong, as the chief referee, Dr Phua Ken Lee as doctor in attendence, Sze Gin and Betty for the excellent and interesting commentary; Gin Wai and Jasper for co-ordinating the competitors as stewards; Gary, Juan Meng, Bobby and Melvin in helping in officiating the meet and Linda our ulc ah jie as our team manager. Our juniors like kiat ju in helping in taking pictures and be prize custodian, Hui Lynn and Caleb (LS class of Kiat Ju) to help out in the tedious job of looking at all the different numbers and timings and arranging the placings, Swee Guan who silently helps out in carrying the manikins. Oh oh, and the nice official tees and Id tags that the officials wear? Mr Nicholas Teo designed it. Wasted to be an engineer ah? ha :)

Wa.. Must start new paragraph for this. Haha. Contrary to popular belief, Mr "Jerk" Khay did HELP me. Haha. He got order the food from yih and settle some Sports Club Stuff. Some only. =p Of course, Miss Sin Yan also helps me to check out the price and different caterer for the food. Thank you everybody!!

Of course last but not least, without him, all these would not have been possible is our king of cold joke kings... Mr Sim! Admist his many duties, he never failed to train us and whip us into shape for the events. His invaluable experience in running competitve lifesaving is amazing.

You all deserve the credits that others heap upon us. For those who are sad that Invi is over or regret the results, dont be, be glad that IT happened! whatever happened will serve as a memorable and great experience.

This is just the begining. Get ready for the big one! woohoo. Who's the best?

Cheers,
theen mun
:)
